Date time picker
A date time picker allows the user to select an associated date and time.
When to use
- A date and a time together, such as when something is scheduled to run.
- A moment where the time genuinely matters, rather than being dropped in to fill the field.
When not to use
- A date alone. Use a calendar or a date field, and do not ask for a time nobody cares about.
- A time alone, which is a time field.
- A duration. That is two values or a number with a unit.
Guidance
Do
Label it with what the moment marks, and let the native control handle the format for the reader’s locale.
Don't
Do not label it Date when you are asking for a moment. The reader does not know what it marks or why a time is wanted.

What to write, and what to leave out.
- Label it with what happens then. Send the report at, not Date.
- Say the timezone when it could be in doubt, because a time without one is ambiguous.
- Do not ask for a time you will not use.
